New Community Hub
S4ALL is in the process of designing a new community hub for Stainforth.
The building will include a number of facilities to suit all ages, including a sports hall, soft play area, youth club, community internet café, training rooms, and meeting spaces.
Early discussions with the planning authority have been favourable, especially in regard to our vision for the building.
Why are we proposing this?
Lack of local facilities – we are hoping that this building will offer opportunities that are hard to find locally. We want to ensure that all ages, interests, ability levels and levels of fitness can enjoy the new community hub. We believe it to be high quality in terms of design and detail, and be both unique, positive and memorable.
Proposed Building Spaces
Children’s Soft Play
The soft play area will be a safe, clean environment for young children to enjoy themselves whilst providing respite for families and single parents.
The internal café and kitchen will provide healthy food, drinks and snacks to the children and families using the facility.

Community Internet Café
Free access to the internet and digital services, including a full library catalogue of books that can be ordered on demand.
The internal café and kitchen will provide drinks and refreshments.
Community Sports Hall
The sports hall will cater for a wide range of healthy sports activities, including 5 a side football, badminton, dance and fitness classes.
The hall will also be able to cater for large events, parties and other community activities.

The youth club will work in partnership with Stainforth Town Council to employ a local youth worker to provide a safe space for children and teenagers to take part in a wide range of activities to help keep them off the streets.
Training Rooms/Meeting Spaces
The training rooms will allow us to continue to provide our valuable Job Club and Barrier Buster services to local people, helping them find work and gain the skills they need to secure sustainable employment.
The majority of the funding for this project will come from the Stainforth Town Deal as proposed by the Stainforth Town Deal board and approved by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
Stainforth Town Deal is currently offering this project £3.02m with £0.6m coming from other sources as match funding, covering the total project cost of £3.62m. This has now been fully confirmed.
As per Stainforth Town Deal heads of terms, this project is offering new schemes and skills facilities for employment, enterprise, youth and digital inclusion, whilst also improving access to local digital services. We estimate over 6000 people in Stainforth and wider area to benefit from this.
Consultation and Future Plans
We are extremely grateful to everyone who took the time to share their views and complete our questionnaire. We are taking everyone's views on board and will keep the community updated as the project progresses.
The Towns Deal board is now in a 12-month business planning stage to ensure viability of all projects that have been selected for funding by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, including this one, so we are not expecting to commence construction until next summer at the earliest.
Watch this space for future updates on Stainforth's new Community Hub!
