Let's Connect this Community

18.06.2021

S4ALL's goal is to connect with the community of Stainforth. Connecting with our community is the goal for our charity. This last year has been hard for us to do this in the same way that we have been for the last 10 years. The need to adapt our work has been forced upon us at a much faster rate, much like many other businesses.

To better connect with the community around us we created the role of Community Connector. This role will ideally help community groups in the area and support people with becoming more active regardless of age, gender and ability. Lisa Aiken has accepted the position and will be collaborating with Well Stainforth and Get Doncaster Moving to discover the interests of the people of Stainforth and what they can get involved in.

Hiring a community connector is a way for us to listen and to understand what is wanted, and missing in Stainforth. Knowing what individuals enjoy doing to remain active, and showing how easy it is to access current groups and services.

Are there any clubs/groups running you are interested in joining but lack the confidence or don't know where to start? Lisa and S4ALL can also help with that too.

If there is anything you would like to know about clubs, groups or events, then you can find it all on the Facebook page 'What's on in Stainforth?'. This will hopefully make it easier for people to see what is happening in the area.

The introductory post that Lisa had created was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, and we hope to see that continue as our work progresses. With the responses in mind we had our first meeting got straight to work, planning and discussing ideas that had already been put forward.

We thank you for the encouragement and suggestions made to Lisa and hope this continues in order to help us aide the community and get people moving.

If you have any ideas or suggestions then feel free to contact Lisa, both her and S4ALL will do our best to help.
