Summer Reading Challenge Kick‑Off
We’re gearing up for the annual Summer Reading Challenge ‘Read to the Beat’, and families can sign up throughout June. This year’s theme celebrates creativity, imagination, and the joy of storytelling. Children can collect stickers, complete fun activities, and earn rewards as they read their way through the summer months. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help young readers choose books.

Stainforth Support Desk
Thanks to funding from the UK Government’s Crisis and Resilience Fund, we are setting up a new Stainforth Support Desk in the library. The service will offer help with a wide range of needs, including digital support, online form completion, crisis payment applications, benefit forms, assessment preparation, advocacy, and referrals to specialist services.
We know many residents are still facing financial pressures, and we remain committed to helping people access the support they need — whether that’s benefits, housing advice, food provision, or other essential services.
Feel free to drop in to learn more and see how we can help.
Digital Help
Need help with your phone, tablet, or online forms? Our digital support volunteers are available to help. No appointment is needed—just bring your device and your questions. From setting up email accounts to navigating online services, we’re here to help build confidence with technology.
Volunteers Make It Happen
This month we’ve welcomed new volunteers Daisy, Ellie, and Jessie, who are all doing an amazing job in the charity shop and library. We appreciate all the help our team of volunteers provide and are pleased to provide valuable work experience.
